Michael Nylander waived his no-move clause to accept a conditioning assignment with Detriot Red Wings AHL affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins. By rule a conditioning assignment can last only 2 weeks and does not relieve Nylander's salary cap hit but it may be a move to get him in game shape with the hope of moving him to another team.
